Diving is a year-round activity at Akumal, which has excellent conditions, with water temperature ranging between 80-90F/26-32С and visibility averaging 40-100ft/12-30m. A special feature of Akumal is that May through to November is sea turtle nesting season.

Akumal is a small town between Playa del Carmen and Tulum on the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico. The closest international airport is in Cancun that is located in 92 km. Diving in Akumal means exploring the world's second largest barrier reef, where divers will find abundant coral formations and marine life along three major spur and groove formations. This diving and snorkeling paradise is home to a variety of corals, sea turtles and tropical fish. There are about 10 dive sites to explore with an abundance of reef life, the most popular being: Yalku Lagoon, Morgan site, Motorcycle Reef and The Gorgonians.
