How to get to the Filitheyo
The small triangle-shaped island of Filitheyo is in North Nilandhe Atoll, located in 120km/75mi to the southwest of Malé, the capital of the Maldives. Filitheyo’s natural environment includes generous vegetation, including coconut and sсrewpine trees, and beaches with pure white sand. Despite the island's size, tourists can find small streets with benches to walk through that are between the ranges of bungalows. Aside from lying in the sun on the beaches and swimming in the turquoise water of the lagoon, tourists can enjoy various water sports. There is also a restaurant where international and local dishes can be tasted. The main attraction and the central entertainment of the Filitheyo resort is diving. Due to the solitary position of the island, the dive sites nearby are untouched with healthy, bright corals and an exceptional diversity of marine life, including big fish. Barrakuda Kandu and Filitheyo Outside are deep dive sites located in the atoll channels where forceful currents often appear, and are known for common sightings of sharks, turtles, and rays. Out of the dive sites located inside the lagoon, Coral City and Repeaters Paradise are easy dives with beautiful corals and diverse species of small fish.
