LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Sibuan

RECOMMENDED AIRPORT
Sibuan is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful islands in the Celebes Sea. This island is an ideal location for snorkelers and beginner divers. This place is also a macro divers' paradise and one of the best islands in the area with almost guaranteed sitings of pygmy seahorses and mandarin fish. With its combination of shallow plateaus and steep slopes this little gem is a regular stop for experienced diver programs. Frogfish, dozens of nudibranchs, crocodile fish, lion fish and scorpion fish can be found along with turtles and sting rays who also frequent these waters. There are a few nice dive sites around Sibuan Island. The most popular ones are Left Shoulder, Mandarin Point, Mandarin Bay, Froggy's and the Drop-Off. Left Shoulder dive site is a sloping reef dropping to 30m/98ft and beyond. There are many different types of nudibranch as well as several different types of frogfish, including giant, painted, clown and tiny juvenile frogfish. Another treat is the hammerhead nudibranchs, black and royal blue in color, found in the shallows of Mandarin Bay. Though most of the dive sites around Sibuan are good for divers of all levels of experience, some sites are a bit more challenging than the others because of the currents. Especially during monsoon months (December and January) visibility is bad and currents can be strong.
