How to get to the Perhentian Besar

Pulau Perhentian Besar is one of The Perhentian Islands located off the coast of northeastern Malaysia in the state of Terengganu. The island is surrounded by turquoise blue sea and lined with palm trees and white sand beaches providing an idyllic tropical island getaway. In addition to coral and fish, the island is home to many nesting hawksbill and green turtles, their number has drastically reduced over the last few years due to oil spills. Also there are many species of sharks, none of them are dangerous to humans unless provoked. Popular dive sites include Batu Layar, Tanjung Besi and Terumbu Tiga. Batu Layar is a submerged reef, featuring beautiful hard coral garden populated with numerous yellowtail barracudas. Visibility isn't so good and there is often a slight deposit of particles on the rocks. Visibility ranges from 10m/32ft to 25m/85ft.
