LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Lang Tengah

Lang Tengah Liveaboards
RECOMMENDED AIRPORT
Lang Tengah is located between Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is best described as a secret paradise seldom visited by tourists and divers. Coral is in pristine condition and there is plenty of marine life to observe. Lang Tengah offers a good deep dive with a drop off going down to 30m/98ft with large shoals of snappers, fusiliers and rabbitfish swarming around. Bamboo sharks, turtles and shovel nosed rays have been spotted on occasion around the island. There are a couple of shallow bays ideal for night diving where crustaceans and nocturnal reef critters like to hide. Some of the more popular dive sites are Tanjung Nibong Laut, Yellow Reef, Tanjung Telunjuk, Karang Nibong, Batu Kuching, Batu Bulan and House Reef. Batu Kuching site got its name from a squarish boulder perched on top of other boulders that resemble a cat. The boulder terrain plunges down to about 20m/65ft where sea whips are dominant. Also, glass sweepers, wrasses, butterfly fish and snappers can be seen. The water here is calm and usually crystal clear, excellent for learning to dive with one of the local dive centers. House Reef is nice for night dives. In sandy areas divers can find cuttlefish, octopus and moray eels.
