LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Livorno

Livorno is situated on the western shore of Italy (the Tuscan coast is about an hour's drive west of Florence). There are fantastic places to visit along this beautiful coast line. Scuba diving is common from Livorno to the south to Piombino. Popular sites in the area include cave dives around Calafuria and Grotta del Grongo as well as Tunnel and a handful of shipwrecks, including Genepesca Wreck (maximum depth is 35m/114ft) and Melania Wreck (maximum depth is 12m/39ft). There is a wide variety of marine life such as slithering eels, sponges, numerous jellyfish, sea anemones, brown meagre, seabream, starfish, sea urchins, bryozoans, and pulsating jellyfish, tuna and a lot of others. Dive sites around Livorno have a maximum diving depth of approximately 50m/164ft, and the average visibility of around 10-30m/33-66ft.
