Pulau Weh is a horseshoe-shaped island located on the northwest of Sumatra that is famous for hikes through the jungle, magnificent lakes, and stunning volcanoes. It is also a great diving destination, offering drift diving in a 350m/1148ft-wide channel, sheer drop-offs, wrecks, and diverse marine life. The depth of the dive sites at Pulau Weh ranges from 5-60m/16-197ft, while visibility is between 5-30m/16-98ft. The currents vary from light to strong. Most popular dive sites This destination has 20 dive sites around it that can be reached by boat from Ibioh. The most popular ones include Arus Balee (water passage full of strong currents, rocky pinnacle, and larger feeders), Batee Tokong (steep slope going down to 40m/131ft and a shark plateau), and Tepekong/the Canyon (arches, caves and walls). Other highlights at Pulau Weh are the Sophie Rickmers shipwreck (134m/440ft in length) and Sabang Harbor (shallow tugboat wreck).
