When to go to Rhodes

Rhodes has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate. The high diving season is considered to be from April to October. The rainy season lasts from November to February. The average air temperature is 14-27C/57-80F, while the sea temperature varies between 16-25C/60-77F. Average visibility is about 20m/65ft.


What to see

Divers can spot a variety of marine habitats, including mantis shrimp, sand fish, octopus, Mediterranean slipper lobsters, jellyfish, Mediterranean Starfish and others. Also while scuba diving divers will explore a wide diversity of Mediterranean sponges, gorgonian fans and soft corals.

Scuba diving in Rhodes

Rhodes is the largest of the twelve Dodecanese islands, located northeast of Crete, and southeast of Athens. Rhodes is also known as 'The island of the Knights', because of the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem that once conquered the land. It is a very popular tourist destination with the excellent facilities for tourism. It is very easy to get to Rhodes as there are three airports (Diagoras Airport is the main one), and well connection with major Greek islands and cities as well as with majority European cities via charter flights. Whether tourists are looking for spectacular beaches, buzzing nightlife, numerous cultural and archaeological sites, charming small villages, they can find it in Rhodes. The most popular sightseeing here is the romantic Old Town, which features strong walls, an impressive-looking castle, cobbled streets, stone mansions. The crystal-clear waters, variety of dive sites and the underwater terrain with dramatic walls, caves, unusual rock formations, variety of wrecks provide divers with some adventure dives.
