When to go to Paliouri

Diving in Paliouri is available year-round. The rainy period is from December to February. The high diving season is from the beginning of April until the end of October. The air temperature varies from 9-25C/48-77F on average. The water temperature ranges from 15-24C/60-82F, depending on the season. The average visibility is 20-30m/65-98ft. The currents can be strong.


What to see

In the waters around Kallithea, divers can spot different kinds of healthy corals, sponges, and anemones, as well as marine species as octopi, conger eels, morays, tuna, jacks, scorpionfish, seahorses, groupers, and starfish.

Scuba diving in Paliouri

Paliouri is a village in southwest Kassandra. The closest airport is Thessaloniki Airport, that is located in 115km/71.4mi. Paliouri is small and peaceful village that is situated amongst pine clad hills and olive trees. The beach of Paliouri, called Chrouso, is at a distance of 2km/1.2mi, a magnificent bay with crystal-clear waters. Here along the coast, tourists will find many beach bars and enjoy different sports activities. It is recommended to visit the nearby popular tourist town of Pefkohori with its beautiful beaches, hotel complexes, night life, and tavernas, and to take a trip on the short cruises that depart for Halkidiki and other islands in the North Aegean. In these warm azure waters, the diving is also great. There are scuba diving centers in the area that will provide excellent diving experiences, particularly for night diving. There are dive sites suitable beginners and experienced divers alike. Divers can explore reefs, walls, underwater caves, rock formations, and old shipwrecks.
