El Veril Grande is located in Morro Jable, at about 200m/656ft away from the shore. A huge stone wall about 45m/148ft in height is standing on the sandy seabed.The site is worth exploring due to the outstanding number of marine species present, some of which are large and rarely spotted, such as whale sharks. Divers can choose their depth based on their diving levels. There are very favorable conditions for underwater photography.

When to go

Due to the warm climate in the diving zone of Fuerteventura, the El Veril Grande site can be successfully explored throughout the year. Still, the most enjoyable underwater explorations happen in the period between May and October. The winter water temperature averages about 20C/68F, compared to the average summer temperature of 25C/77F.

What to see

The species that can be seen here include large pelagic fish, whale sharks, angel sharks, trumpetfish, bream, black moray eels, and large dusky grouper.
