LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Uvero Alto

Uvero Alto is a small village, located on the coast of the Dominican Republic. This destination is perfect for a relaxing vacation. Uvero Alto has no particular sights worth seeing. There are several local restaurants and one of them is located right on the water. Bavaro and Punta Cana are two of the most visited destinations, which are closest to Uvero Alto. Also many resorts that offer various activities can be found in the vicinity. Uvero Alto is a good coast for diving and snorkeling. It is a beautiful place with fine white sands, turquoise sea and palm trees. Its beach is a part of the longest coral reef protected beach in the Caribbean. Diving here consists of various interesting rock formations including some caverns and cracks. It offers some beautiful coral formations as well as amazing marine life, including nurse sharks, stingrays, moray eels, lobsters, crayfish and barracudas. The nearest dive sites are Rondana, Astron Wreck, Shalom Tropical, Patato and Taberna. One of the famous sites is Astron wreck. It sank in 1979 while delivering huge amount of corn to Cuba. The average depth of the site is 12m/39.4ft and the maximum depth is 15m/49.2ft. This site is also a good location for night diving, beginner's diving, training classes and underwater photography. There is a variety of flora and fauna. Barracudas, rays, yellowtail snappers, plenty of different tropical fish, diverse coral species and sponges can be found there. Diving can be done by boat and is suitable for divers of all levels of experience.
