Purple Cave is situated in the Southeast part of Mauritius. This site is favored by the locals and marked accessible to divers of all levels of experience. The average depth of the site is 18m/59ft with maximum at 21m/68ft.
When To Go Diving
Average surface sea temperatures vary between 22C/71F and 27C/80F depending on the season. The best time to dive this location is during the summer (November through May) when the air and water temperatures are at their warmest.
What to see
It is a large cave (comfortably accommodates about 20 divers) decorated with pink coral. Striped eels catfish, octopus and tropical fish, such as cornetfish, trumpet fish, flutemouths and anemone fish weave around the corals.
