How to get to the Trinidad
Trinidad is a town in the south coast of Cuba. It can be reached by flying through Cienfuegos or making a domestic connection through Havana or Varadero, as far as Trinidad airport does not receive international flights. Trinidad, also called “the museum city of Cuba” became a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1988. It is a quiet town, and a real treasure for history buffs. This destination is definitely worth visiting due to its colonial-style palaces, plazas, great museums, including the Museo de Arquitectura Trinitaria, the Museo Histórico Municipal, the Museo Nacional de la Lucha contra Bandidos, with its wellknown bell tower. Also tourists can admire trip to Valle de los Ingenios, where the ruins of dozens of 19th century sugar mills are located and have a great rest in Playaa Anconthe main Trinidad beach. Diving here is also a worthy adventure in these waters. There are three diving areas nerby: Peninsula de Ancon, Cayo Blanco, and Ensenada de Casilda. The underwater world is presented with shipwrecks, coral reefs, and walls. There are about 20 dive sites in the area, that are suitable either for novice and experienced divers. Some popular dive sites include Acuario, El Laberinto, Playa Ancon.
