Mali Lošinj is a town on the northeastern coast of the island of Lošinj, in western Croatia. The city is situated in a protected bay surrounded by white houses with red roofs, mountains and thick forests. This place has become a widely known and popular tourist destination since the end of 19th century, when it was transformed into a trendy Austro-Hungarian winter health resort. The main tourist attractions are Apoxyomenos (an ancient bronze of a Greek athlete), St. Martin’s Church dated 1450, church of the Annunciation of Holy Virgin. Mali Lošinj offers a top-quality accommodations, sport and recreation facilities (sailing course, diving course, surfing, bowling), and many beaches (Veli Žai is the most beautiful). The amazing turquoise color of the Adriatic waters and clear sea allows divers to enjoy sea caves, coral walls, canyons, steep reefs, tunnels and coral rock formations of different shapes. Diving in Mali Lošinj means diving with dolphins, which number can reach about 100-150, in a picturesque underwater landscape.
