Mindelo

Located on Sao Vicente Island, Mindelo is one of the famous destinations of Cape Verde. The closest airport is VXE that is located in 5 km from Mindelo. Enclosed between mountains and the ocean, the bay, Porto Grande, has been classified as one of the most beautiful in the world by UNESCO. Mindelo is a lively, beautiful, cultural town and a perfect holiday destination. Small cobbled streets lead onto wide avenues lined with palm trees, colourful buildings and architecture from the Portuguese and British colonial era. There a lot of activities in Mindelo and one of the popular is a scuba diving. There dive sites that are good for divers of different levels of experience. Divers here can explore wrecks, reefs, caves, massive rock formations, and wall drop-offs with rich tropical underwater flora and an array of fish. The marine life in the waters off Mindelo includes shoals of rockfish, bream, dolphins, turtles and cat sharks, tiger, lemon, hammerhead sharks. Among the variety of dive sites located in this area the popular are Le Dromadaire wreck and Tribe house reef.
