Black Coral Forest, on Hawaiʻi Island, is a deeper Kona site associated with black coral growth. It has an elegant, shadowed character and is generally more suitable for experienced divers.

What to see

Black coral, longnose hawkfish where present, reef fish, jacks, moray eels, turtles, sponges, and deeper reef life may be seen.

When To Go Diving

Best in calm Kona conditions, often May to October. Water is usually around 24–28°C, with visibility commonly 20–30 metres.
