Long Island Liveaboards
RECOMMENDED AIRPORT
Long Island is known as the most scenic among all the Islands of the Bahamas. It is approximately 130 km/80mi long and only 6km/3mi wide at its widest point. Long Island is noted for its totally different coastlines - the dramatic rocky landscape on the northeast side, and the broad sandy beaches on its southeast side, with the famous Cape Santa Maria Beach, ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The main tourist activities on the island include sailing, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, freediving and swimming. Surrounded by many small bays, inlets and smaller islands offshore, Long Island offers excellent opportunities for world-class diving. It is particularly noted for its caves and is also home to Dean’s Blue Hole, the deepest underwater sinkhole in the world.
