Delta Shoals is a great dive site for all the history buffs, as it consists of several vessels' wrecks. Divers can explore the Ivory Wreck, which is hardly recognizable now, as it was sunk in 1853. Diving around it let divers to check several artifacts and explore a former cargo ship remains. Another spot is The North American Shipwreck, which was sunk in 1842. Diving in Delta Shoals is also presented by the Barge Wreck and several Spanish Galleons. Another peculiarity of the site is its sandy shoals with coral reef fingers, consisting of spur and groove formations. They host the diversity of interesting marine creatures, which can be spotted while diving in Delta Shoals.


 

When To Go Diving

Climate is tropical in Maraphon, Florida. Diving is advisable from May to October. This period is a hot and wet season with average air temperatures of 30-32C/86-89F and water of 27-29C/80-84F. Approximate air and water temperatures are of 16-18C/60-64 from November to April and mark a warm and dry season. 

What to see

Scuba-diving in Delta Shoals is presented by ich marine life. Divers can watch barracuda, turtles, angelfish, parrotfish and yellowtail fish.
