South Male Atoll

Dhigu is a large 400m/1312ft thila located in South Malé Atoll in the Maldives. Novice divers can snorkel or dive at the shallow top reef at about 3-5m/10-16ft. Then divers can move to the west, where the depth is 10-12m/33-39ft. There are plateaus, caves, and overhangs on the east side and south side at a depth of 22-26m/72-85ft that are suitable for experienced divers. When currents are coming in, it is better to start diving at the east corner. When currents are going out, the west corner is a better location to start a dive trip.
