This large and beautiful grotto, is situated in the village Babino Polje, in the central part of the Mljet island. As the legend says Odysseus found the shelter in this cave after a shipwreck and lived on this island for about 7 years with a nymph Calypso. It's a wide and bright cave, that can be accessed in two ways: one from the seaside and the other one - by jumping into the high waves and diving through an 30m/98ft underwater channel. The best time to dive is at noon, when the sunshine penetrates the cave, creating marvelous light effects in blue colors.
