Scuba diving in Ras Abu Soma




This dive is often done as a drift, with average depth of 200-300m/650-1000ft and water visibility around 3-30m/1-100ft. The dive starts in the north near the Safaga Bay and drifts southwards along a very nice and steep wall. There is a small cave that enters the coral reef and the wall that goes up to 80m/262ft of depth.
When to go
All year long. The water is warm year round and ranges from 22 to 29C/71-83F.
What to see
Reef, corals, leopard shark, hammerheads, barracudas, snappers and manta rays in March and April, turtles, dolphins, eagle rays and lots of reef fish.
