The island of Male Srakane belongs to the Losinj archipelago and is located south from the bigger neighboring island of Vele Srakane. There are many rocks, small caves, crevices, swim-throughs and tunnels along the ragged coastline of Male Srakane Island, which makes it a great scuba diving location. On the west side of the island there is an interesting vertical wall, which goes down to 43m/141ft and definitely worth of exploring. However, the main underwater attraction of Male Strakane is a large cave, located on the south coast of the island. Divers can enter the cave through a spacious tunnel, which they can find at the depth of around 7m/23ft. The tunnel will lead them into a cave, which looks like a chamber with an оpening in the ceiling, allowing enough natural light into the cave.

When To Go Diving

Diving is possible throughout the year, however, the better conditions for diving are during the period from May to September, when the average water temperature is around 24-25C/75-77F.

What to see

Swimming through the tunnel, divers will see beautiful sponges and corals, and inside the cave, lobsters, damselfish and brown meagre can be found.
