Cousins Rock is an impressive dive site that boasts an abundance of unique underwater landscapes. The site features a number of walls and ledges, covered in colorful sponges and corals, that are home to a variety of marine life. Additionally, divers can explore underwater canyons and arches that provide a home to a diverse range of species. This dive site is known for its diverse range of marine species, making it a popular destination for divers. One of the most iconic species to see while diving at Cousins Rock is the hammerhead shark, which can often be seen in large schools. Other species of sharks that can be found in the area include Galapagos sharks, whitetip, and blacktip reef sharks. In addition to sharks, divers can expect to encounter a wide variety of other marine species, such as sea turtles, eagle rays, and a variety of fish species, including colorful and elusive frogfish. The area is also home to playful sea lions, who love to interact with divers. Due to the strong currents that can be present in the area, diving at Cousins Rock is recommended only for experienced divers. Minimum certification of Advanced Open Water or equivalent is required, and it is highly recommended that divers have experience in drift diving and using a reef hook serious diving enthusiasts

High diving season is from December to April. Annual water temperature varies between 19C/66F and 26C/78F.

As you descend into the crystal-clear waters, you'll immediately be greeted by the impressive sight of schooling hammerhead sharks. The area around Cousins Rock is one of the best places in the Galapagos to see these magnificent creatures. The hammerheads typically swim in large schools, making for an awe-inspiring sight. Moving along the top of the reef, you'll encounter the graceful movements of eagle rays as they glide along effortlessly. Schools of colorful reef fish, such as parrotfish and surgeonfish, will also catch your eye as they dart in and out of the coral formations. Further out into the open water, you might spot the majestic silhouette of a manta ray as it glides through the water. These creatures are commonly seen during the cool season from June to November. As you explore the underwater landscape, you'll notice sea turtles gracefully swimming alongside you. Green sea turtles, hawksbill sea turtles, and the occasional leatherback turtle can be seen in the area
