Maarehaa Kandu
Maarehaa Kandu is a channel in Huvadhoo Atoll on the Maldives Islands. Divers can explore this dive site by taking a liveaboard from one of the north atolls. Those who prefer underwater photography can take some macro shots of the diverse marine life. At this site, divers can try a drift experience and observe the reef, wall, and big fish.
When To Go Diving
The best diving season is from January to April. Water temperatures remain around 28-30C/82-86F during the year. Divers can encounter pelagics in any season.
What to see
At the entrance of the channel, it is possible to see gray reef sharks, eagle rays, and trevallies. There are also schools of silversides and bluefin trevallies, as well as various shrimp and crabs near the hard corals. Hawksbill turtles and whale sharks are spotted occasionally.
