Snorkeling
North Turtle Rocks Reef is located off the Southwest coast of South Bimini island. It separates the Great Bahama Bank from the Southern Atlantic Ocean. The site got its name not for the abundance of turtles, but for the large brain and star corals that peek out of the water at low tide, and look like the backs of giant turtles. The site is good for snorkelers and novice divers.
When To Go Diving
Diving is possible all year long, the average water temperature stays at comfortable 26C/80F.
What to see
The dense coral formations and lots of fish, such as angelfish, parrotfish, spotted drums, file fish, yellowhead jawfish, eagle rays and lobsters.
