Wreck
The Premchai Wreck is an old tin mining boat sunk in 2001, located close to Thai Muang beach, near Khao Lak. The wreck is largely intact, but due to the massive amount of nets and cables, penetration is not allowed. The wreck is covered in clams, and the keel is home to hard and soft corals. There is an abundance of marine creatures, including schools of snappers, pipefish, barracudas, scorpionfish, moray eels, leopard sharks, cuttlefish, orangutan crabs, and a variety of nudibranches. The dive is suitable for all diver levels, with a maximum depth of 21m/68ft. Currents are mostly mild.
When To Go Diving
Diving is possible any time of the year, but the best diving conditions are from November to April, during the northeast monsoon, because it is the driest time. The annual water temperature ranges from 26-30C/78-86F. Visibility ranges from 5-15m/18-40ft.
