Hairball One is a great muck dive site in the Lembeh Strait in Indonesia. It has black sand, a few sponges, and algae. This site is famous for its diverse, well-camouflaged small creatures.

When To Go Diving

Hairball One can be visited year-round, although the optimal diving conditions are typically from July to October during the dry season. The water temperature in the Lembeh Strait averages 27-29C/80-84F. The air temperatures get up to 30-35C/86-95F.

What to see

During the day divers can spot a lot of different small creatures at Hairball One, like large yellow and brown seahorses, different types of frogfish, baby cuttlefish and batfish, cardinalfish, and zebra crabs. During the night divers have a chance to spot buried stargazers at this site.
