Toyapakeh
Toyapakeh dive site can be found on the northwest coast of Nusa Penida Island. Toyapakeh is a large bay and, being partially protected from the currents, it features rich coral life with large sponges and beautiful bommies. Divers will enjoy swimming through vast schools of colorful reef fish of all varieties and finding large lobsters underneath the corals. It is also a place where divers can catch a glimpse of a rare giant Mola Mola during July-October season.
When To Go Diving
Diving is possible all year round but the use of 5 mm wetsuit is recommended during the winter as the water temperature can drop to 18C/64F. The average water temperature in summer doesn't exceed 25C/77F due to the depth of this site.
What to see
Swimming through many schools of colorful reef fish, divers will also see giant trevallies, triggerfish and batfish. In sheltered areas divers can find lionfish, cuttlefish, lobsters and octopus. Toyapakeh is also a place where divers can marvel at the rare Mola Mola during the right season. Among other pelagics divers are most likely to spot big tuna, barracudas and nurse sharks.
