The Pit is a giant sink hole in the Dos Ojos park in Mexico. It's a huge vertical drop that has the deepest known cave entrance in the area located at 120m/400ft. At 27m/88ft there is a spectacular cloud of hydrogen sulphate. This site is incredibly beautiful in the summer time when a wall of sun beams shining down to 30m/100ft. There is an entrance fee of $20 US that divers have to pay to do this dive. Diving the Pit Cenote is only for AOW Scuba divers.
When To Go Diving
It is possible to dive Pit Cenote all year long. The average air temperature stays within 25-30C/77-86F. The average water temperature stays around 20C/68F. The depth of the cenote is around 120m/400 ft.
