About Mamanuca Island

The Mamanuca Islands of Fiji are a chain of 20 islands near Denarau and Nadi. It is easy to get there from Nadi by boat or plane. The Mamanuca Islands have a wide range of activities for all types of travelers, such as parasailing, windsurfing, dolphin-watching, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming with reef sharks, visiting villages, and miniature golf. The large Mamanuca Lagoon is suitable for novice divers because of its calm waters and mild currents. The visibility here can exceed 35m/115ft. There are various deep dive sites here, 20m/65ft and even deeper. Most popular dive sites There are a lot of beautiful and popular dive sites in the Mamanuca Islands. The best dive sites are the SS Salamada, Supermarket, Fish Market, Seven Sisters, and Tui's Reef. Supermarket is possibly one of the most famous places for whitetip, blacktip, and gray reef sharks. The Seven Sisters is named for the seven pinnacles in front of a reef wall that forms plenty of coral formations.

When to go to Mamanuca Island

The climate at this dive site is tropical. The temperature is about 30C/86F year-round, and divers can come during any season. There are two major seasons here: the dry season from June through October, and the wet season from November to April. The dry season is mild, with a temperature of about 24C/75F. During the wet season, the temperature is about 32C/89F. The water temperature is about 26C/85F all year. From July to December the water is cooler, which reduces plankton activity for the best visibility. What to see Scuba diving in this dive region is interesting both during the day and at night. Divers can observe moray eels, crayfish, and clams during the night at Tui's Reef. During the day, they can admire soft and hard corals, as well as schools of small fish, sharks, and turtles. Divers often go on night dives at this site, where divers frequently observe crayfish, clams, moray eels, and a multitude of other tropical marine life.
