Thundufushi Thila is situated around Ari Atoll, Maldives and famous for its circular pillar 1km/0.6mi in diameter. It also features a sheer drop-off, healthy coral reef, and small caves full of different fish schools. The current can reach 2 knots.

When To Go Diving

The best time for diving at Thundufushi Thila is from January to May. The rainy season comes in June and lasts to November. The water temperature averages 26-29C/79-84F, while the air temperature is between 28-30C/82-86F.

What to see

The most exciting species around this dive site include gray reef sharks, eagle rays, huge tuna, and even manta rays. The smaller fish around here are butterflyfish, surgeonfish, parrotfish, and clownfish that hide in the anemones, as well as purple fans, gorgonians, and corals of all colors.
