South Male Atoll

Vaadhoo Caves is a dive site at South Malé Atoll full of small caves and one larger cave with a swim-through passage. It also features a narrow cave with a big overhang at a depth of 30m/98ft. The current is usually light around here, which makes it a great spot for snorkeling too.

When To Go Diving

It is possible to dive at Vaadhoo Caves (Maldives) year-round, but the best conditions are during the dry season, from January to May. The rainy season is generally from June to November. The temperature of the water is about 26-29C/79-84F, while the air is usually 28-30C/82-86F.

What to see

Vaadhoo Caves is full of marine life, especially when it comes to larger species like sharks, eagle rays, giant trevallies, and barracudas. Beautiful gorgonians, corals, and sea fans hide myriads of small tropical fish.
