Liveaboard diving in
Snapper Alley
Similan Islands
The Snapper Alley dive site is located east of Koh Bangu in the Similan Islands, in the bay near Island 9. It is a big reef slope that ends in a sandy seabed, with massive rocks encircling the pinnacles. The multitude of sea fauna species that make their homes here include pipefish and the dramatic-looking rockmover wrasses. There are almost no currents at this site, and since the depth is quite shallow, this site is mostly perceived as being suitable mainly for novice divers.
When To Go Diving
The best time to dive in this region is from November to April (season of the northeast monsoon), because of the mild and dry weather conditions. The southwest monsoon that lasts from June to October, should be avoided in terms of diving due to the intense rainfall.
What to see
Rockmover wrasses, frogfish, bigeye emperor, scorpionfish, big snappers, ghost pipefish are often seen at this dive site.
