Blue Grotto Cavern
The Blue Grotto, a marvelous natural wonder, is the biggest freshwater cavern in Williston County. The dive starts at the mouth of the cavern, which is 24m/80ft wide and 6m/20ft high. Diving in Blue Grotto starts as a shallow dive site and then lets divers dive down to a depth of maximum 30m/100ft. A highlight to this site is the compressed air bell at 9m/30ft. It is even possible to take the regulator out of the mouth and communicate with your buddy under the water. It features nearly unlimited visibility year round. The dive can be done in the same day with Devil's Den, as it is located at less than a mile from it. Also, the Blue Grotto features picnic tables, cabins, a bathhouse, what makes it a great vacation place.
When To Go Diving
Scuba diving here can be done any time of the year. Divers can experience at this dive site the water temperature of 23C/72F all year round. The hot and rainy season lasts from May till October with air temperatures of 25-28C/77-82F. From late October through April the air temperature ranges from 15-20C/59-68F.
