Cala Ferrera Islands are located to the southeast of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca. Cala Ferrera is approximately 14 km/9mi away from Portocolom and has a wide sea entrance framed with steep cliffs. This small sheltered sandy area is a place of mass tourism. The beach has a gorgeous marina that houses a lot of boats available for rent to coming tourists. Cala Ferrera is best suited for off shore diving so knowing where to anchor your boat can be a bonus. The best area for anchoring is between the beach and the nearby Cala Serena, where the depth ranges from 6-10m/20-32ft, on a sandy ground covered with seaweed. Anchoring in these sandy areas can be complicated if the wind blows from the east or southeast. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu Marina de Cala d'Or in 1,3 nautical mi/1.5mi. The marine life is diverse and includes moray eels, groupers, amberjacks, meager, barracudas, nudibranchs, octopus and hundreds of other species of fish.
