Bluebird Wreck
The Blue Bird was a passenger ship that was sunk in 2002 in the area between Puerto de Mogan and Taurito off the southeast coast of Gran Canaria Island. The wreck is 30m/98ft long and it lies at a depth of 45m/148ft on a sandy bottom. Although, it was very recently sunk, the wreck hosts a wide variety of marine life. Large shoals of fish of all sizes are always present at the wreck site, and inside the wreck divers will find hiding conger eels.
When To Go Diving
It is possible to dive at this site all year round, but the most comfortable diving conditions are during the summer, when the water temperature rises to 26C/79F. During the winter the average water temperature drops to a cool 18C/64F.
What to see
Divers will see a 30m/98ft-long wreck surrounded by shoals of roncadores, barracudas, amberjacks, rays, tuna, and also garden and conger eels.
