One of the popular areas for diving on Lanzarote is Playa Chica, located in Puerto Del Carmen. It is also known as House reef and is one of the most diverse dive sites on the island, which opens up numerous spectacular dives. The famous Blue Hole, Shrimp Cave, Veril de Fariones, Harbour Wall and Cathedral are located nearby and it is possible to make series of stunning dives starting at this location. Caves, underwater cliffs, volcanic channels and deep water corals are featured at Playa Chica. The depth of the site ranges from 10m/33ft to 40m/131ft. It is a fabulous place for night diving. Lots of colorful fish, big groupers, nudibranchs, moray eels, cuttlefish, sea hares and sand eels can be seen here. Divers can also find angel sharks, different types of rays, octopus and even sea horses. Playa Chica is a natural horseshoe shaped bay with reef patches and is a good site for novice divers. Deep dives can also be done here by more experienced divers. The underwater visibility is good, around 10-30m/33-98ft. Diving at this site is done from the shore.
