Wreck

Ipimar wreck is located near the city of Faro. The site features an iron fishing vessel that was sunk in 1995 by the Portuguese Research Institute of Fishery and Sea to serve as an artificial reef. The vessel is about 45m/147ft long and 7m/22ft high and is lying on the sandy bottom slightly heeled to starboard. Its stern is pointing to the open sea. The wreck remains intact allowing a secure penetration in several areas of the boat. The inside of the boat was completely cleaned and cleared of the machinery creating some routs for more experienced divers. This site is recommended for advanced divers only.
