MV Seattle
MV Seattle is one of the most popular wreck dive sites in Norway. Divers can explore the remains of a magnificent German cargo vessel sunk in 1945. The freighter sunk in cross-fire between the Kristiansand Fort and now creates great conditions for divers from across the globe. Diving in MV Seattle is very interesting as the wreck still remains well-preserved. It lies on the bottom and is accessible from between 25-70m. the shallower stern is fairly easy, but much of the wreck is too deep for basic divers.
When To Go Diving
Diving in MV Seattle is advisable during summer months with air and water temperatures of 18-22C/64-71F. The period from December to February is characterized by air temperatures of -5-4C/23-39F and water averages of 1-3C/33-37F.
What to see
Explorers may encounter pipefish, angelfish, nudibranchs, starfish, wrasses and groupers. Nowadays it is also covered with a layer of corals and sea anemones and attracts lots of marine creatures.
