Liveaboard diving in
St Anne Marine National Park
Baie Ternay Marine National Park
Sainte Anne Marine National Park, located about 5km/16ft off the east coast of the island of Mahé, was established in 1973 and was the first marine park in the Indian Ocean. The park is made up of 6 small islands with a variety of diving spots that will be interesting for novice and experienced divers. The area is also popular with snorkelers because the crystal-clear waters allow divers to see everything down to the sea bottom. The reefs in the park area host an amazing variety of soft and hard corals in all shapes and colors. However, the main feature of the park is a large colony of hawksbill turtles that feed on the extended seagrass meadows.
When To Go Diving
Sainte Anne Marine National Park is a year-round destination, because the tropical climate and the almost constant annual water temperature of 27-29C/81-84F provide comfortable conditions for diving all year round.
What to see
Divers will see beautiful soft and hard corals, nudibranchs, shoals of reef fish, yellow snapper, trevallies, bottlenose dolphins, and other marine species. Swimming with hawksbill turtles will be a most memorable experience for visitors of Sainte Anne Marine Park.
