Spooky Channel is a natural channel cutting through the reef off the end of the Sunnyside Pier. The channel itself is similar to cavern diving with lots of overhangs and crevices. Side walls of the channel gradually rise up and almost touch each other but still allow light to illuminate the way. Divers can also enjoy the shallow inside of the reef as well as its outer side, where divers can do a terrific wall dive and explore a wide variety of marine life.

When To Go Diving

Scuba diving in Honduras is possible all year round. The average water temperature varies from 26-29C/79-84F all year round.

What to see

The channel itself is not as densely populated, though divers can find some sea stars, shrimp, schools of southern sennets and toadfish hiding in the cracks as well as numerous lobsters. The coral reef wall is populated by big schools of blue creole wrasses, large yellowfin barracudas, groupers, parrot fish and other species.
