Cenotes
Temple of Doom or Cenote Calavera, which means “Skull Cave” is situated not far from Tulum, on Mexico’s Mayan Riviera. The cenote is filled with multi layered halocline, which is a mixture of fresh and salt water and features a large canyon with many passageways and caverns. During the dive, divers explore the walls of the cenote at different depths. The light streaming down through the holes in the cave creates a thrilling effect of a skull with two eyes and a mouth. The cave looks like a huge room with an impressive combination of stalactites and stalagmites. There is enough light in the cave to allow divers to discover a lot of fossils. The intriguing visual effects of the halocline make the diving experience unforgettable.
