When to go to Nha Trang

Located in the eastern part of Vietnam, diving is possible in Nha Trang through most of the year, and summer starts in May, often bringing a lot of sunshine and nice weather. Unlike the south of the country, this area has only four wet months of monsoons that bring rain, usually from September until mid-December. The best time to come to Nha Trang for diving is from February to April, when the average air temperature is 26-27C/79-81F. The temperature of the water ranges between 24-25C/75-77F. The water visibility is quite high and is around 28m/92ft.

Scuba diving in Nha Trang

Nha Trang is one of the most famous diving destinations in Vietnam, and attracts both beginners and experienced divers. Nha Trang airport is located here. The underwater scenic beauty of Nha Trang includes 350 listed types of hard and soft corals, sponges, and anemones. This place is well known for its rarer nudibranches, various frogfish, and scorpionfish. There are dive sites with sandy and rocky bottoms, various caves, tunnels, drop-offs, and walls. In addition to jacks, grouper, seahorses, squid, lionfish, and clownfish, there is a high chance to spot turtles released by the Marine Park Association. The popular dive sites around Nha Trang include Mama Hanh Beach (with shallow coral gardens and ghost pipefish), Mushroom Bay, Fisherman Bay (with enormous table corals and cornetfish), Small Wall (with 20m/66ft drop-offs and cuttlefish), as well as Green Canyon (with tuna and surprises at 40m/131ft depth).
