Truk Master (Solomons Master) is one of the few boats that offer diving in Truk Lagoon - a famous destination for wreck diving. Also, this boat cruises around the Solomon Islands. Boat's schedule also includes a unique trip to Bikini Atoll, which was recently open for divers. An amazing collection of wrecks can be explored. Underwater photographers will appreciate a special camera station.

Boat interior
The liveaboard has 8 cabins and can accommodate 16 guests. All staterooms have air conditioning, private facilities, hairdryers, and safes for personal belongings. Divers can relax in the lounge area on the Truk Master after a day of diving, which has comfortable sofas and a plasma TV. If you prefer to stay outside, you can spend time on the boat’s sun deck, which has lounge chairs. The open-air dining area is perfect for viewing the gorgeous scenery.

Dive deck
Dive deck has enough space for all divers on board to be comfortable. There are under-bench storage boxes for personal belongings like fins and masks. There are also shower hoses for rinsing between dives.

Itineraries
Liveaboard is one of the few boats that offer the opportunity to dive in the Japanese wrecks in Truk. A large part of the Japanese fleet was based here during WWII. Battleships, aircraft carriers, tugboats, gunboats, minesweepers, and submarines were destroyed in 1941 by air attacks. In 1969, Jacques Cousteau and his team explored this place, and since then it has become an attractive diving destination. The boat offers 7-night and 10-night trips to Truk Lagoon, which include visiting numerous sunken ships. The boat has equipment for technical diving, for those who want to explore every part of its wrecks at a depth of 30-50 m/98-164 ft. Here divers can see cargo ships that still hold torpedos and periscopes, and tanks that rest on the decks. The Rio de Janeiro Maru was once a luxury passenger boat and now lies on the bottom of the sea. This is one of the boats that guests on the Truk Master can explore. Divers can also visit the Shark Island reef, a cleaning station for sharks.
A unique diving destination can be explored on board of Truk Master - Bikini Atoll, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Nowhere else can you dive such a fantastic collection of wrecks, including the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga.

When to go
It is possible to dive in Truk Lagoon all year round. The temperature is between 21-27°C/70-81°F in the coolest months (between December and April). October and November are the wettest months. Diving conditions can be rough during typhoon season (between August and December), although typhoons are rare for this area

Worst liveaboard that I have ever been on! I have been on probably about 10 liveaboard trips over the past decade including to Palau (x3), Indonesia, Maldives, Cocos island, Philippines, Galapagos, etc.  Diving with Solomon Master Liveaboards has been the only negative one that I have ever had.  First, the trip was delayed as they did not have their act together to insure that everything was sorted with the port authority.  There was minimal communication about the complication, and I did not find this out until I actually arrived at which time I was informed that departure would be delayed by at least a day.  When you have travelled 30+ hours at enormous cost and have used your limited vacation, this is a huge deal.  They were also going to insist that I share a room with a stranger despite the fact that the boat was not at full capacity.  It seemed like the very least they could do given their mistake, but I had to escalate it to the head office after I was told repeatedly that I would be charged twice as much for this even though that room would have gone empty, and they would not have realized any additional profit.  Second, the dive boat was not up to par with no hot water, only intermittent air conditioning within rooms, and no Wi-Fi services despite the fact that this was advertised.  Third, there were only 2 dive masters.  One of them was having ear problems so actually did not go on several of the dives, and the other had not dove a lot of the dive sites.  I felt like the situation was borderline unsafe.  My list of complaints actually continues but wanted to restrain it to the ones that I found most problematic.  Needless to say, I will avoid Master Liveaboards at all costs in the future!
