Liveaboard diving in
Powerstation
Powerstation is located off shore from the large power plant west of Kyrenia, north part of Cyprus. Underwater landscape features steep slopes, high rocky peaks, holes and cracks in the rocks and boulders. At the depth of approximately 31m/101ft there’s a large cave with a wide entrance. Its interior is decorated with a variety of colorful sponges. On the sandy bottom several rocks are covered by a magnificent growth of black sponges as well as sponges of other colors, providing shelter to numerous solder fish. Moving further to the outer edges of the site the predominant Neptune grass can be found. This location is very good for underwater photography.
When To Go Diving
The best diving conditions are from May to October, when the water temperature stays between 21C/69F and 28C/82F.
What to see
Steep slopes, high rocky peaks, holes and boulders, cave. The site is known for its rich marine life, which includes groupers, sea breams, amber jacks, parrotfish and mackerels ( seen from September to October).
