The Palau Siren is an ironwood top-class modern motor-sailing yacht, making it an ideal choice for liveaboard diving holidays. This vessel is superb for marine photographers, providing workstations, separate storage boxes, rinsing tanks for cameras, and numerous charging points with adapters. The yacht has up to three dive guides, allowing divers to be divided into smaller groups according to their level. Divers can select trips of different durations—6, 7, or 10 nights—to explore some of the best of Palau, including the German Channel and Ulong Channel. Additionally, there's the unique opportunity to witness the spawning of bumphead parrotfish and red snapper, which attracts numerous sharks.
Boat Interior and Exterior
The liveaboard accommodates 16 vacationers in 8 spacious, air-conditioned staterooms. Each cabin is equipped with an entertainment system, an individual shower with hot water, air conditioning controls, and reading lights. All rooms have a safety box and a hairdryer. Between dives, passengers can relax in an air-conditioned lounge with a bar and comfortable couches, a 107-cm/42-in flat-screen TV, a selection of movies, and a small library. The boat also features a shaded open-air dining area. The comfortable sun deck on top of the boat offers a marvelous view of Palau, perfect for unwinding after dives.
Diving
The dive deck has plenty of lockers for gear storage. The boat also features Aqua Lung scuba gear, available for rent, including BCDs, regulators, 3-mm wetsuits, masks, and fins. Crew members are well-trained in emergency medical and evacuation procedures, ensuring scuba diving safety for all passengers.
Safety and Navigation
The liveaboard prioritizes passenger safety with life jackets, smoke alarms, emergency long-distance radios, satellite phones, and EPIRBs. The crew is trained to manage emergency procedures, and medical boxes are available on board. Upon boarding, all passengers will receive a safety briefing and try out life jackets.
Additional Services
The yacht provides laundry and massage services for guests. Passengers can also purchase souvenirs such as clothing and equipment items like reef hooks and pointers.
Facilities for Underwater Photographers
This liveaboard is tailored for marine photography enthusiasts. It offers special spaces to maintain photo and video gear, recharge batteries, and prepare for dives. The boat includes ample storage and numerous charging points, along with rinse tanks designated for cameras. Divers can also participate in master classes with a famous underwater photographer to enhance their skills.
Diving in Small Groups
With 2 dive tenders and 3 instructors, divers can be grouped according to their certification levels for small group dives. Advanced divers can explore currents, caves, and other challenging dive sites, while less experienced divers can find sites suited to their skills. Diving with pelagic fish in Palau provides an exciting experience for all levels.
Itineraries
Dive at the most excellent destinations in Palau. Discover the well-known German Channel, famous for manta rays at cleaning stations. Another iconic dive spot is Blue Hole (Blue Corner), where divers can see schools of gray reef sharks and whitetip sharks. The vertical walls feature gorgonian fans, soft corals, hard corals, eels, anemones, and barracudas. Choose a 7-night trip or a 10-night trip to visit all the must-see dive sites in Palau.
When to Go
The ideal time to visit Palau is from November to April. At the end of winter and the beginning of spring, there is a strong possibility of seeing gray reef sharks. December is the best time for those looking to dive with mantas, providing optimal scuba diving weather conditions.
