About Middlesex County - Jamaica
Middlesex County is the central of the three historic counties of Jamaica and available for diving year-round. Middlesex County of Jamaica is well-loved by both novice and experienced divers. The first can enjoy the coral gardens, shallow reefs and sandy bottoms, while the latter can explore the wrecks, deep walls and cavers with large pelagic species swimming past them.

The best known dive sites of this region are SS Kathryn Wreck, which used to be a minesweeper, and has a wheel house with an open top to go into; Devil’s Reef, Sand Channel, The Mountains, Ocho Rios Slopes and Rockside Reef.
When to go to Middlesex County - Jamaica
The climate is tropical accompanied by high temperatures with the average air temperature ranging between 26C/79F and 29C/84F and the average water temperature between 26C/78F and 28C/82F.
The best time to come here is during the summer months of July, August and September, but it is important to keep in mind the hurricane season that may start as early as July and last till October.
Water visibility can reach up to 35m/115ft in this area.
What to see
These fauna representatives include kingfish, jack, mackerel, whiting, bonito, tuna, lionfish, scorpionfish and myriads of small exotic fish. The sea bottom is covered with soft and hard corals of all colors and shapes, gorgonians and sponges.
