LIVEABOARD DIVING IN Felidhu
RECOMMENDED AIRPORT
Felidhu Atoll, also known as Vaavu Atoll, is comprised of 19 beautiful isles. It is a natural atoll of the Maldives, situated 64km/40mi from the capital city of Maldives. Though this atoll is less developed, it is known for healthy coral reefs, pristine beaches, clear waters and is a part of protected National Park. Divers cam explore channels, submerged pinnacles, reefs, swim-throughs, small caves, walls and overhangs. Most of the sites can be found on the eastern side of the Felidhu Atoll. Diving on the west side is not as good, but with an outgoing current during the north east monsoon mantas are frequently seen there. This destination is teeming with colorful reef fish and larger pelagics, divers can see titan triggerfish, sharks (grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, hammerhead sharks), eagle rays, giant tunas, Napoleon wrasses and mantas. The sites that are worth visiting include the Pioneer wreck, Fotteyo Kandu, Bodu Miyaru Kandu and Alimatha Jetty night dive. Conditions are great for diving and snorkeling.
