Must see

Luquillo has always been Puerto Rico's most famous beach. Coral reefs protect the crystal-clear lagoon from the often rough Atlantic waters. Lots of crevasses and coral heads top at 1 foot under water making the site incredible for snorkeling. The town of Luquillo also has several beautiful beaches, specifically Playa Fortuna, Playa Azul and La Pared. La Pared is known among tourists as a great surfing beach. Being a part of the Northeast Ecological Corridor, these beaches and reef systems are home to many land and marine animals. From March to June each year, hawksbill and leatherback sea turtles return to these beaches to lay their eggs. This location is open to divers of all levels. The average depth here is 6m/20ft with maximum depth being around 30m/100ft. Visibility ranges from 10m/32ft to 30m/98ft.

When To Go Diving

The weather is warm with little seasonal variations in temperature, which fluctuates between 25C/77F and 30C/86ft. Because of occasional hurricanes the best time to travel to Luquillo is between December and May.
