Wreck
L'Espingole is a wreck, that lies off Saint-Tropez. Diving at this site is recommended for CMAS*** divers. This long and thin torpedo boat had an enormous engine capacity for her time, with 2 x 2,600 horse power engines giving a top speed of 27 knots. It was equipped with 65 and 47 mm cannons and 2 torpedo tubes. You can still see some of the shells at the front of the wreck, but be careful not to touch them.The wreck is a home now for a variety of marine life, including moray and conger eels, many species of reef fish, lobsters and crayfish.

When To Go Diving

The best time to dive at L'Espingole is from May to November when the water temperature reaches 20C/68F. The average depth of the site is 34m/111ft while the maximum is 39m/128ft. The average water visibility ranges around 10-30m/32-98ft. Currents are low.

The current is very weak and the visibility is oft
The current is very weak and the visibility is often excellent. It's not the most beautiful wreck, however it's nice to visit. The doll is cut from the center of the ship. The propeller is still present but very silted. You can easily enter inside the wreck. The fauna is quite rich.
